Effective conservation of the jaguar requires preservation and controlled development of vast interconnecting tracts of diverse wild habitat.   

Such a conservation initiative would require broad cooperation among many nations.

An effective jaguar conservation plan therefore benefits countless other species of plants, animals, and vanishing indigenous cultures through protection and wise use of their shared natural environments.

"El Tigre" leads us then, as our symbol of neotropical wildness, on our trek down the Trail of the Jaguar.
