Trail of the Jaguar
The biogeographical focus of the Virtual BioPark is defined by the geographic distribution of the jaguar, the largest and most  majestic of the New World cats.

The wide and diverse range of the jaguar provides an excellent basis for ecological and cultural  exploration of the New World's warmer climates.

The jaguar ranges from North American desert regions to the rainforests of South America, radiating north and south from its evolutionary cradle in Meso America.

The jaguar is a charismatic icon for untamed wilderness in the tropical and subtropical regions of the New World.

The jaguar has captured the respect, admiration, and esteem of people from time immemorial.
The great cat figures prominently in the cultural spirituality and mythos of indigenous peoples throughout the tropical Americas.
