Leaders, Accommodations, and Transportation
Group leader: The Huachuma Journey through Time will be led by Howard Lawler, who is the principal shamanic facilitator and founder of El Tigre Journeys. Howard has been a student and practitioner of the Peruvian Mesa and other forms of core New World shamanism for over 35 years. His diverse background brings key skills and knowledge to the blend which you will find both stimulating and comforting. You will find his gift and insight in the practice of pre-Columbian Huachuma mesa shamanism to be intriguing and provocative. He will reveal the inner workings of the Chavin Mind as few can.
Lodging: We will lodge double-occupancy in safe and comfortable 2 and 3-star hotels and hostels in Trujillo, Chiclayo, and Piura. Lodging in Huancabamba, Salalas, Salas, and Chavin will be the best available but spartan. Complimentary breakfast is sometimes included. Single occupancy is subject to availability at cost added and must be booked in advance.Meals: Meals are otherwise not included in the cost to give everyone greater choice and flexibility in cuisine according to individual taste and budget.
Transportation: Airfare is not included. All land transportation is provided. We will travel by chartered private bus from Piura to Trujillo on the northern coast.
We'll be largely self-contained and moving at an unhurried pace to assure that we realize the greatest benefit and insight each step along the way. We will travel by public bus from Piura to Huancabamba, from Trujillo to Huaraz, and from Huaraz to Lima.
Upon our arrival in Piura from Lima, we'll spend the night there and depart the following day for Huancabamba around 0730 hrs (7:30 a.m.) arriving in Huamcabamba around 1630 hrs (4:30 p.m.).
