Don Rober de Lamas

Banco AyahuasqueroThe incomparable Don Rober was born in Lamas in the Peruvian department of San Martin in 1945. He began his apprenticeship in ayahuasca shamanism with his uncle at age eight and apprenticed diligently for ten years before undertaking his lifelong healing practice. He has practiced ayahuasca shamanism in the famed Lamista tradition for nearly fifty years.Don Rober is a genuine 'banco ayahuasquero', Though the term "banco" is rather carelessly tossed around these days by people generally unqualified to know what it is, the banco is a true title of supreme mastery of the ayahuasca art which still holds respect among those capable if discriminating the qualities and gift of the banco.
Banco is the the highest level attainable in traditional mestizo ayahuasca shamanism of the Peruvian Amazon.
