The Mayan civilization was the first great civilization in the new world. While
we know much more about it now than just a couple of decades ago, we still know
very little about it in context or total. And often what we think we do know
is incomplete and often misleading. It now appears that this unique civilization
may have started much, much earlier than we had originally thought and from
influences we had never even considered before. It was also much more sophisticated
and peaceful then previously suspected. Some interesting items recently uncovered show new insights;
1. Recent autopsies done on Egyptian mummies showed significant traces of cocaine and tobacco of the type only found in the Americas. How could they possibly get all the way to Egypt in these heavy quatities unless a culture was cultivating them much earlier and distributing it much wider than previously thought?
2. The numbers from one to eight in the Mayan language are written and pronounced almost identically to those used by the Naga influenced civilization of early India. How could this be unless some cross-cultural intercourse took place?
3. New dating of older archaeological sites such as the circular stepped pyramid just South of Mexico City's main University place it at least 8,500 years ago. This was dated by the archaeologist for the National Geographic Society first by stratification layer method and more recently by the dating of the volcanic eruption that covered it around 6600 BC. This has to move our beginning dates much further back. There wasn't supposed to be any advanced civilization here at this time. Questions and more questions that make us realize we do not understand the origins and wide spread influenced of this civilization called "The Mayans.".
Conventional theories about the Mayans have been questioned recently and many overturned. Controversy reigns and many different opinions are now turning up in books and articles. But rather than go into all of this aspect of scholarship we are going to present another "what if" look at this exotic civilization.
Many archaeologists, scientists, and researchers have written about this civilization. Rather than criticize or duplicate their conclusions we are going to look at it from the view point of "ethnoherpetology and use our Dragon guides and teachers who are giving us ethno interpretation from their perspective.
Take this in the manner it was meant, think differently, and come up with your own conclusions and possibilities.
"The student who learns the difference between facts and truth will go far." Mei Ling
Hello, you may call me Wajid. I will be your guide as we fly over the Realm of the Rattlesnake and look at the interaction of humans with my lessor brothers and sisters. We will see how the Greater Dragons have helped your early human civilizations evolve in your philosophies towards each other and all life.
I am a seeker of knowledge and often a finder of answers. Those who have not the understanding feel free to look at this information as reverse role playing and a way to expand ones perspectives.
It is simply another point of view designed to make you think and ask "what if" and "could this have happened like this?"
Seek to find truth and the answers will often surprise and challenge you.
From our perspective all reptiles are divided into two categories. They are "lessor dragons" like most snakes, toads, salamanders, and horned lizards and greater Dragons which are those reptiles that have "awakened" to the concept of their individuality or the I in me. The capitol in Dragon stands for self aware or awakened.
And yet all reptiles are a type of "dracoform" just like all of mankind's species whether Neanderthal, or modern are called hominids; although evolutionary development differs greatly. Where do reptiles become Reptiles and where to hominids become Human is a difficult question. This was one of the courses of study at our University of the Americas during the rise of the Mayans.
We will look at the influences that the various dracoform reptiles had on this early civilization. Some like the frogs were considered simply messengers of the gods telling those who would listen about weather. Crocodiles were considered simply as a food source and an inspiration to imitate.
And speaking of imitation, our little brother the rattlesnake had a profound effect on the Mayans in everything from architecture and the science of the cosmos to the fashion of the day. Unfortunately we did not intend this to be the case.
Much of this misinformation came from cults that arose erroneously from the true teachings. The true influences of this great peoples we ourselves. You can read it plainly in the carvings that were left on the rocks, walls, and monuments of the cities we influenced.
These teachers were the Queztlcoatlz or plumed flying serpents
also called the Kulkulkans. The later is incorrect as it was actually a title
given by these cousin dracoforms or Dragons to their own leaders and rarely
given to a human.
But let us go back in what you would call time and first look at the Dragon's influences that we may find in the greatest of all the early Mesoamerican civilizations of the new world; "The Mayans."
There is much information that was lost to humans on this great city that became the center of the civilization. And there is much that has been misunderstood and misinterpreted. The story I am going to unfold for you is not accepted by most archeologists and scientists and what we call "the flat earthers". They don't even accept my existence, the skeptics.
Oh well, maybe all the world is not ready for my kind to emerge again. You can call us all "dracoforms" whether we are Asian Imperial Dragons, Nagas, Western Wyvryns, or Plumed Flying Serpents. But we are all a distinct type of your most ancient teachers; the Dragons.
If you are not ready for this revival of ancient knowledge from our viewpoint then think of this as a minority report on a controversial subject. The truth of my tale will be up to you to decide.
This story is told by many of the descendants of the ancient humans and in fact much is written about it in the ancient Mayan picture language that is available for all to look at and decipher as their abilities and ideals dictate.
A trip to the ruins of Chichen Itza with the proper understanding will verify much of what you are about to learn. We dracoforms have a saying, "When the student is ready the flying teacher appears."
Dragons are said to live for a very great time, and I am ancient in your concept of years. But the real source of this story is from a cousin of mine who was actually there at the beginning. She is used to living in the sunsets, shadows, and starlight and does not want her name revealed at this time.
But if you ever visit her home city on the Yucatan peninsula be aware that everyone did not leave as it appears today. If you visit the cenote near the oldest part of the city at a time when the tourists are gone, and if it is very quite and you push your senses to their limit you might just sense a subtle movement under the dark waters 25 feet below where you can view the place where she waits out the fierce light of the day.
You will not see anything, but for those who have subtle and
refined senses you will detect life. Ancient life of the kind your ancestors
used to commune with.
She is there yet, still waiting to see the start of the prophecy that says "And
a new king shall arise to do battle with the host of petrified beings who shall
also arise at this time. And with him will be a petrified Quetzalcoatl. And
eventually they shall prevail and a new age of understanding will again start
with the end of the 5th sun."
Petrified in this case can mean "sleeping" or "carved from stone" as in the many statues carved about the City. Words can have many meanings and direct translations are often difficult without losing the "flavor" of the original.
P.S. She loves roses and shinning objects with positive energy brought to her from other exotic places.
They are called Quetzalcoatl by you humans. To us they are the Aah. They are also called "plumed serpents" or "flying serpents. In reality they are one of the Greater Dragons who have always been instructors and teachers who have long watched over their own kind as well as the mankind.
Here now are her translated words from the beginning of this great experience at the very founding of the great Mayan Empire.
"Long and long were we in the bottom of the great metal rafts. From the final eruption of the great Bakta volcano and the fleeing from our sinking island was our expedition floating on the great ocean. We were all that remained of the scholars, acolytes, and students from our now vanished civilization.
No one knew if the others also got away in time as they had planned. Many were the destinations planned and prepared for by the seven groups. India, Egypt, China, and Greece were the destinations I remember, but there were others I can't remember.
My group was headed for what is now called the Americans. They were not very far from our Westernmost Island port. But the volcano erupted much earlier than expected and confusion reigned.
In the middle of the night we were forced to flee our ancient home in the direction we knew our new home to be located. We knew where the land we sought was, but we did not know the seasonal currents were not in our favor at this time and so we floated onward for what seemed forever.
Finally some land like a cloud low in the sky was sighted. But then we were shrouded in mists and could see nothing, though we knew our destination was now close. Everything was wet and dripping for days and days as we came closer to our destination.
My kind, the Aah, were always cold and I thought my furled wings would never be the same again. Fresh water was in short supply and even the most patient among us grew short of temper.
Time seemed to hang suspended and we feared that at any time we might be swept onto hidden reefs and thus end our times on this plane. The humans among us seemed fearful of this moreso than the Aah. But this is the only plane most of them can remember so we faulted them not.
Then in front of us it seemed the very mountains rose out of the great sea and the morning light revealed we were at the land we had so desperately sought. Our flight of despair was turned into light and joy and the Kukulkan was very pleased.
We had brought with us our knowledge, our science, a few of our machines, and most of all our love of teaching worthy others of what we learned in our long ages. We would remake this land and found a new school of hope and of light."
Sorry to interrupt, but she will not cover some subjects so I will fill in from
time to time. This task of moving proved to be much more difficult than they
had thought. Many of the inhabitants of the new land proved to be suspicious
or hostile of any newcomers. They wrongly believed that this new group of refugees
really coveted their own lands and so send them further North or East time after
time and thus they were forced to travel inland when they had preferred to be
near the sea.
All this time the Quetzalcoatl teachers had to be hidden from superstitious and easily frightened locals. This was very unlike the respected teacher status they had earned in their previous civilization and it hurt them greatly in spirit.
Finally, this large group of refugees and travelers decided to try and link up with some brethren who had built and colonized an outpost at Itza many years before. But this task also proved difficult and they finally had to resort to using their superior weaponry to awe the many semi primitive hostile tribes they encountered along the way.
But to compensate for this unfortunate use of force they also taught their healing arts, agricultural, architectural and other skills that would later bare much good fruit. And they left many of their party along their path from the sea to help raise the living conditions and consciousness of people they met along the way.
After many, many more years of traveling they found themselves at what was later to be called Chichen Itza. But there was great mischief going around about this site. The traveling party literally walked into a war. Itza and its precious wells were besieged by many peoples who could not have or use this sacred site but were preventing the ancient colony from expanding or moving about safely over the region.
After negotiations got them nowhere the arriving party finally used their terrible weapons of light to drive off the attacking tribes. This was later to have bad consequences as all killing does, but that is for another story.
The brethren from the sinking islands and their old friends were reunited in joy and love and a new resolve was kindled among the combined group. They were either going to have to civilize or conquer the many and varied groups, tribes, and peoples living around them if their goals for the area were to be realized.
But first, attempts to socialize these fighting neighbors would be tried. And one of the best ways to do this was to teach them the benefits of having kindly and advanced neighbors nearby. It took some time and the process moved slowly, but success eventually came of this enterprise and peace became the norm within a generation of man.
And thus the first university of the Americas was founded. Its purpose was to teach of the path of truth and light and how to overcome ones lower animal nature to get there. By walking the path of Truth and manifesting only Love one is able to evolve as much as your individual consciousness allows.
After peace and security was establish, the group at Chichen Itza started taking in and initiating worthy candidates from anywhere that had heard of them and showed up at the literal door. This dragon and human teaching order taught the new initiates what they needed to know to master first themselves, and then to go back and spread this knowledge to their own and nearby peoples as well as others encountered along the way home. This was the beginning of what was later called the Mayan way.
Here is the description of the city from my cousin, a teacher of this new Esoteric University of the Mayans at Chichen Itza. She was always a teacher and sometimes she gets long winded so please bear with her. If you are interested read through this next section. If not, pick and choose or move on in your studies here.
"Every building, every area held a special purpose in the city. There were actually two portions of the city as per our plans. The original and older part were first used for all the functions.
But as our party arrived and the numbers swelled there was a division so that there were two separate but important parts of the one city. Our entire purpose was to take the initiates who were from many lands and many peoples and make true humans of them.
This was done with a very rigorous set of lessons of both the physical and physiological process whereby they were transformed from lower animals with no great control over their energies and desires into a disciplined individual fit to go back to there peoples a leader, a teacher, a master.
Many of these students often started in the older city and
then learned and evolved to be worthy of learning from the new or "teaching
city."
Our entire purpose was to the understanding of the path of truth and light.
The body is of the elements but the soul is of the light. Skilled artisans carved
the entire story and process that went on here on the various buildings and
columns so as to inform those who had some understanding of the process of what
was happening and something about what was to come.
As example on one frieze in the newer portion of Itza "to slay the Jaguar" meant to overcome the animal passions within. All was symbology. Numbers are, of course, always sacred and hold many meanings. Throughout the city were many representations of what was going on during and throughout the entire transformation process.
But only when one learned those specific lessons did the sacred writings on the walls and the symbology of the various carvings have exact meaning. The seven serpents of wisdom were learned one at a time until they are understood at once in a flash of lighted insight and are symbolized by bursting forth from the head of the winning team on the great ball court.
Throughout these lessons carved in stone you can see the Aah as teachers in many areas of the initiates studies but especially the "inner studies."
The ball courts, as they became known as, were not actually used for games of skill. On these fields were the deeds practiced that were learned in the various stages of the schooling. But just as much of the schools teachings were somewhat obscure to those with little understanding they often were carved and shown as metaphors.
So too was much taught as "The Game of Life or Light" but to outsiders it appeared as a real game instead of the symbolic nature that the initiates knew it to be.
Indeed these games were the testing fields for the initiates
culminating in the "Great Ball Court" so called. Here was the "final
testing" of the initiates although not the end of their schooling. Those
that passed this most subtle and yet grueling test were now ready to learn of
"that which transpires behind that which appears."
Each team was composed of a captain who was usually elected by the team but
could be appointed by a group of masters if there was a good reason for it.
This symbolized one being the captain of his own destiny.
In addition, only the winning team could qualify to move into the final "higher learning" that could lead to one becoming a master. All had many chances at winning until they either passed the test or left for other places.
A sense then, of working together, to help each other be the best they could be was clearly demonstrated to each of the initiates who made it this far. The game was really just another symbol of the deeper meaning being taught to the initiates about how to better themselves by bettering those around them.
The losers were of course disappointed as they would have to go back to their lessons and qualify again to play on the final ball court. They were symbolized in the carvings by the absence of the snakes and wisdom feathers. They might be close but had not made it yet.
They still had to show that they could control their lower self. They had to learn to finally channel the light energy of the universe into their higher self and be willing to be "beheaded" and conquer the physical portion of their being and learn to start listening to and living the life of the soul or spirit.
As I mentioned before the entire city was divided into two parts; the temples to the light and all the ancillary buildings needed for the teaching, and the temples of the mastery of the physical. Not all initiates and not all the people felt called to go into the inner life of the light. And not all teachers were of the Aah. An occasional traveling Naga from India or adept from Egypt would stay for some time and both learn and teach at our university.
Some were crafts people, or scientist, deep thinkers, and even the warriors and functionaries. It took a great deal to support this city of teaching. To this purpose many initiates that found they did not have the gifts, the calling, or the true desire to be a master instead turned to the lower city, as it was called, symbolizing that there was still much to learn about the lower self that could be useful and even beautiful.
While the upper city was devoted to its learning's, both were important to support the schools purpose. And much that was done in the lower city was important in its own right.
The Quetzecoatls taught many skills. Architecture & building;
astrology and the study or the heavens; farming, hunting, and gathering from
the many sources available as well as maintaining the balance of all; politics
and the arts of governing correctly and justly including law, trading and bartering,
and finally many crafts that called on the intuitive to listen to what was of
the light inside one were all practiced.
At first just the needs of the school were considered. But as time went on it
became apparent that the talent attracted to Chichen Itza were the best in the
known world. As the influence, wealth, and philosophy started to spread far
and wide, new directions were constantly having to be explored.
Administrators were need just to see that everything worked smoothly. More foods were needed to feed the growing population. More dwellings needed to be placed and built in or near the city.
While almost all that came here were attracted by the light, a few were jealous, envious, or just, and too aggressive for the harmony we had worked so hard to develop. First what we called peace keepers and later actual warriors were needed and trained. Then more trade for materials needed for the initiates study and the support of the flourishing arts mandated a class of traders and transporters.
And of course as our best initiates turned into masters and went back out to teach among the other peoples we had to train and send ambassadors to see that these teachings were properly taught and not abused.
The masters were of course highly evolved and would not misuse their knowledge. Indeed, at their "masters induction ceremony" we often brought in their families or important people from their tribes to see this holy rite. First they were allowed to show their awards of mastery such as the carved Phallus which was tuned to their unique energy.
Many would be the laugh or embarrassed cough when they realized what they were seeing and the size which was more proportional to energy level than to actual anatomy.
Then they would get to see the column erected in the temple of the masters which was their symbol for eternity of their mastery of the light and transformation into a true human being. There were hundreds of masters over the years and this area grew far larger than any of us would have originally thought. And the Aah were well pleased with this graduating class.
Many of these masters went to far corners of the continents and carried out the teachings they had learned here. Many petitioned to start their own school and those that were granted this always built one or more ball courts just like here in Chichen Itza so that they too could teach and test their students. But nearly all peoples still sent their best to us to learn in the manner of "the old ones" as we were called near the end of our story and stay here.
As our teachings spread and the people saw that they were good, many others not associated with the school of light started their own which they saw as the equivalent of our school. Most sought our advice, our advisors, and our input on how to do this. We were glad to help all those that asked, but we always insisted that one of our masters be present. Even so, some schools were isolated from regular intercourse with Chichen Itza and over time diverged from the true path.
And also they were a diverse and vigorous peoples who tended to do something's different than we did. And this eventually led to much mischief that we had to undo by incorporating a better example into our courses.
One example of this is what came to be called the "The Cult of the Sacred Snake With Rattles."
We Aah have often been called "subtle as serpents." That is often because it is so hard to put into words the complex concepts mankind needs to understand in order to evolve his consciousness.
The easiest way to teach the masses (not the initiates) is to use stories and parables. We are of course much more comfortable in using our own form and our close relatives to make example of. We learned much from our cousins in India the Naga.
From them we learned the subtleties of the breath. There the King Cobra often uses his breath to draw his prey to him rather than going out and hunting it down. This we also taught to our little brothers the rattling serpents. From this successful attempt we were to go on to other very subtle lesson bred into these lessor dragons.
We often use the natural world around us to demonstrate solutions to human problems. And too we use our brothers and sisters of what you call the reptile kingdom because we thoroughly understand them. So it is, I suppose, our fault that this cult and large following arose when it did almost from the start of our school at Chichen Itza.
In the beginning we were not so careful of our words and did not know that our teachings would be taken so literally. Where we had just spent many years teaching at before coming to where we now were the people had become highly evolved and understood our methods of teachings.
But here, the locals were much too literal, and we had made some errors in judgment many years earlier. Later on we were more careful after what happened as a result.
Our kind had been at this sacred site for much longer than your kind. And as a test of our subtleties, some of our kind had been selectively breeding one of our lessor brothers to see if they could demonstrate many of our lessons on the unseen in a physical manner.
There is a serpent, that you have later named the Crotalus durissus durissus, which was common to this part of the planet. In it we noticed a high degree of advancement over others of its kind. We simply bred, reinforced and added positive traits that seemed reasonable to do at the time.
But because of their sensitivity to our form, which some people in their ignorance called God, and because of our learning's and wisdom as well as our unique physical appearance; some humans took a derivation of our teachings and founded their own religious order.
On the surface it seemed flattering and humorous with no downside in our minds. But as more and more of even our own students and our own kind began to fall under this persuasive cult we finally had to act to set things right.
We are not Gods or truly even gods. We have been called "Great Serpents" and this is true enough though not literally. Our concept of the creator is the same as yours. There can only be one Truth of that magnitude.
We, like you, are all children of the one Creator even if our many forms differ from yours. We are reptilian and you are mammalian. But we worship the same God and Goddess.
We are much older than your present form and can even remember our other earlier forms that evolved, unlike most humans. We are much more aware of the unseen then all but the best of your teachers.
Our souls even are much more in touch with our bodies than yours and we can thus live much longer in one physical form. Some of your kind have also done this, but it is extremely rare for humans. And our memories extend back much further than all but your bodies genetic coding memories.
Most of my kind do not even take physical form at all and instead live in another sphere or level of consciousness. But we Aah have taken on physical bodies to become teachers and thus understand quite well the workings all the way down from the macro to the micro level that your kind are only now becoming a little aware of this knowledge.
Into this little brother, the snake with rattles, we put subtlety
on top of subtlety. This we did much more carefully than even in our carvings
on the walls at Itza. But somehow someone started unraveling these secrets.
To start with we believe that someone realized that by snakes shedding their
skin these inquiring human minds were given the primary hint. This hint was
that there was the reality of changing and growing, of time and flux, of the
real and the unreal.
From this inbred symbology, which we did not create but rather enhanced with selective breeding, other important physical and not physical laws started being deciphered from this little brother of ours. This was literally a can of biting worms that I do not wish to dwell on here. But much was learned at this time about many of the true inner workings of the teachings of the Aah.
One of the teachings that went to the initiates at the school was the identification with a "totem." This was done by design so they could see the sacred in the mundane. Each animal, each creature, and actually each plant has a certain "essence" that defines its true purpose for being and for coming into existence.
By focusing on this essence a people could live the best part of their totem. Not to worship, simply to emulate and imitate.
For example while the Jaguar was used to depict mans lower animal nature it also could be used to mean "the essence of never giving up." Not stubbornness, but the ability to stick to ideals no matter what the challenge.
Just like words can have several meanings, so too can symbols. And so totems started to become important to many clans, tribes, and peoples. Some were even exported a long way from our school in the Yucatan Peninsula.
So with many of our teachings already accepted, it was almost natural that some would behold this snake as the most powerful totem. This was especially true as it was in general or similar form as we Aah. This totem was called the Ahau Can and its symbol was to appear all over the lands and many later stylization's were all roughly the shape of a human heart.
This symbology alone was later to lead to much mischief. And from the uncoding of this totem much of our knowledge was made available to those who interpreted it. And there were some that could, and did understand what it all meant. At least on the surface.
We brought our calendar with us from our last island home but we had been using it for literally a couple of hundred thousand years based on our solar studies from far back before your actual history started.
Into the scales of the Ahau Can the numbers 13 and 20 appear so that when multiplied together gives 260 for the sacred year. We also bred the most sacred number 7 into the rattles. This is the time that the physical Ahau Can reaches sexual maturity and its life force is ready to be spread into the universe.
There were also things done with this symbology that were supposedly based on this cult's teaching. But they were in reality brought into being somewhat later when the dark one's influence grew.
One of these terrible things done in the name of the Ahau Can was to use the sacrifice of the heart. The heart was a stylized symbol for Ahau Can that we could not change from the teachings, but this also only became a problem much later.
Another example of the cult's influence that we could not stop was the deformation of an infants head to look like us. The "pol can" was a procedure done to new born infants that by tightening a wooden frame on the still malleable head produced a head shaped like unto the Aah or totem serpents head.
We were never completely successful in removing these inadvertent rituals and misinterpretations of our teachings. But it was the 'dark one" or "smoky mirror" as some called him that eventually led to our downfall, exile, and later vilification by those who understood the story not.
Of this I will not go into. I have said enough to let others once more see that all is not as it appears in mans study of his and our past. Be careful whom you listen to in order to form a more accurate understanding of what really was. Above all look into yourself and see what you hear from your own true soul.
There are many versions of reality, but only one true version of the truth. This is our version from living through the events later described by those who were not there or under the dark ones spell. I speak the truth, but you must decide what you will.
Well, she tells the story with passion and first hand knowledge. Understanding of her tale will come to those who feel the light, those who's heritage is of the light. It is for those who are reawakening that this story is for. For all others this is just a tale of fun, fantasy, and what if..... ? Take it as a teaching lesson from the Dragons perspective.
This was just some of the influences that we Dragons and our relatives had on this early civilization. We like to think that most were very helpful in the evolution on this continent. But of course some things always go wrong, and in this we are disappointed. But we did the best we could with what we had to work with.
Next we will look at what went on in the North with the tribes that did listen and remember many of our teachings such as the "Medicine Wheel", "The Sacred Mounds", and other tales of the Lessor Dragon's influence on mans evolution in what is called the New World and The Northern Kingdom of the Rattlesnake.
